    About the collaboration

Amsterdam in Motion is an initiative of Duncan Stutterheim in collaboration with the Amsterdam Museum, Cultuurdorp Westergas, Monks, and numerous partner organizations. The project was born out of a shared ambition to portray the city of Amsterdam in an innovative, layered, and accessible way for a wide audience.

The Amsterdam Museum is responsible for the content curation of Amsterdam in Motion. In its role as city museum, the museum contributes historical knowledge, urban stories, and social context, presenting the development of Amsterdam in the past, present, and future in a coherent manner. The museum is also responsible for the exploitation of Amsterdam in Motion.

Production takes place in close collaboration with Cultuurdorp Westergas, where the exhibition is being realized, and creative agency Monks, which is responsible for the multimedia and technological translation. In addition, there is collaboration with a broad network of social, cultural, and educational partners. These partners contribute with content expertise, educational programs, audiovisual material, and urban data.

Amsterdam in Motion is a gift to the city on the occasion of Amsterdam's 750th anniversary. The collaboration reflects a shared ambition to enable residents and visitors to experience the city in all its dynamics, diversity, and complexity—and thereby stimulate a lasting connection with Amsterdam.
