MBO
All levels
How do you train young people to become entrepreneurial thinkers who contribute to tomorrow's Amsterdam with courage, creativity and critical insight? Schools can choose from an existing programme or a customised programme tailored to their wishes, goals and education.
Please note: the existing programmes are in Dutch. Please contact us for the possibilities to create a programme for English-speaking students.

Untold Restored
Seven mbo students designed the educational programme Untold Restored together with the Amsterdam Museum. The central questions are: who made the city what it is today, and whose stories are being told or forgotten?
The programme consists of an interactive card game. By playing the card game, students learn how a museum works and discover hidden histories and stories about the city. Untold Restored is suitable as an introductory activity or for project weeks.
Are you interested in this programme? Get in touch! We are happy to think along with you about how we can match this programme to your students' needs.
Subjects: Citizenship education, special education weeks, introduction, 21st century skills, Cultural education

Women of Amsterdam - workshop
Amsterdam turns 750 this year! To celebrate, the Amsterdam Museum is collecting odes to women who have shaped the city. Together with ROCvA, mbo students wrote personal odes to women who inspire them, which have been bundled in a special publication.
In this programme, we visit your school with this publication for a creative workshop. In this workshop, students write their own odes to a woman who is important to them.
Subjects: Dutch, creative writing and citizenship. The workshop is also very suitable for themes such as women's emancipation, for example around International Women's Day (8 March).

Op maat gemaakte programma's
Are you looking for a programme that ties in with entrepreneurship, Amsterdam citizenship or 21st century skills such as creative thinking, collaboration and problem solving? With art as a starting point, the Amsterdam Museum makes it easier for students to develop these skills and discover their role in the city.
Do you have an idea for a programme that takes place outside the classroom? Or would you like to develop a tailor-made topic that perfectly matches your lesson goals? We would be happy to help you design this programme so that it fits perfectly with the curriculum. From building management, security and audience mediation to making and experiencing it yourself.

Examples of tailor-made projects
Women of Amsterdam
In collaboration with the ROC van Amsterdam - College Zuid, students wrote personal odes to women who inspire them. These odes were bundled in a publication that made the voice of this young generation visible in the exhibition Women of Amsterdam - an ode.
Project Muse
In collaboration with Mediacollege Amsterdam, 125 students from the courses Spatial Designer, Game Artist and Software Developer collaborated on installations around the theme of colonisation in the exhibition Manahahtáanung or New Amsterdam? They created VR experiences, games and interactive installations, with the research question: What would Manahahtáanung have looked like if it had not been colonised? The work was on display for four days at the Amsterdam Museum.
Elective Art & Design - Design the Future, Amsterdam in 2175
Together with ROC College Noord, the Amsterdam Museum developed a case study in which students thought about what the museum collection would look like when Amsterdam celebrates its 1000th anniversary. After a tour through the museum, they made their own designs which were displayed in a pop-up exhibition at school.
