Young artists portray their city
Every school vacation, children from Amsterdam get the chance to collaborate on a work of art during the Amsterdam Museum Camp, based on a particular theme. In 2025, this theme was the future.
A dog as mayor, a floating superbeing without a bum, and cleaning outfits for keeping the city beautiful. These are just a few examples of how Amsterdam’s younger residents envision the future of their city. After all, who lives in the city then? Who takes care of its people as mayor? And are there still canals, or do we all just live on the water?
The artworks, which the children created under the guidance of artists, will be on display at the town hall from 6 May.
