Govert Flinck & Ferdinand Bol

13 October 2017 TO 18 February 2018

The Amsterdam Museum is organising together with the Rembrandt House Museum the first comprehensive retrospective exhibition ever of the painters Govert Flinck (1615-1660) and Ferdinand Bol (1616-1680) in the autumn of 2017. In the Rembrandt House, the place where both masters lived and worked for almost twenty years, the emphasis will lie on their apprenticeship under Rembrandt. The Amsterdam Museum will show how, once they became independent, the two developed into the most important and successful master painters of their age. Two other locations in town, the Royal Palace Amsterdam and Museum Van Loon, will link to this exhibition at the same time by focusing on the two artists.
