We are proud to present the sixth edition of the Amsterdam Museum Journal (AMJournal) ‘Future Cities’, which is dedicated to the elusive future of urban spaces, painted by countless possibilities, challenges and imaginaries. Not thinking about the future is a privilege when climate breakdown, genocidal warfare and runaway technology are already ravaging large parts of the world.  

Edition #6 of the AMJournal is a layered and multidisciplinary polyphony that features reflections and forecasts about the future of cities by contributors from various disciplines all over the world. As a result, this issue is a diverse and complex exploration of ‘the future’ that looks at the imagining of futures in the various arts as well as practical challenges and possibilities.
