June events at the Amsterdam Museum
Every month, the Amsterdam Museum organizes engaging events such as special tours, lectures, symposia, performances and evening openings. For these public programs we collaborate with a diverse group of partners to provide a platform to the city's many communities.
Panorama Amsterdam Tours (in Dutch)
Na jaren van verhalen, perspectieven en inzichten maakt onze vaste tentoonstelling Panorama Amsterdam plaats voor een nieuwe editie van onze kunstmanifestatie ‘Refresh Amsterdam’. Daarom nodigen we je uit voor een bijzondere laatste blik. Tijdens deze exclusieve rondleidingen nemen onze conservatoren en curatoren je mee langs Panorama Amsterdam en delen zij hun persoonlijke inzichten en favoriete verhalen. Dit is dé kans om nog één keer deze bijzondere tentoonstelling te ervaren.
- 30 mei | Vanessa Vroon leidt je rond met een focus op nieuwe perspectieven.
- 30 mei en 1 juni | Conservator Norbert Middelkoop neemt je mee door de tentoonstelling met een focus op oude makers/meesters.
- 31 mei | Hoofd conservatoren Imara Limon loopt je langs het verhaal van Amsterdam met een focus op beeldende kunst.
- 31 mei en 1 juni | Curator Tom van der Molen vertelt je hoe activisme en protest Amsterdam mede vormden.
Sites of Memory: Forget to Remember
Vrijdag 30 mei t/m zondag 1 juni, meerdere tijden
Forget to Remember brengt onderbelichte verhalen uit het koloniale- en slavernijverleden tot leven, vertelt vanuit het perspectief van vrouwen van kleur. In een indrukwekkende mix van muziek, dans, spoken word en performance neemt deze voorstelling je mee op een reis door tijd en ruimte, waar verleden en heden samenkomen in het hart van Amsterdam. Een muzikale reis door vergeten geschiedenissen die de start van de Keti Koti maand inluidt.

Zondag 1 juni van 14.00 tot 15.00 uur
Voor veel mensen is Amsterdam een thuis. Toch hebben lang niet alle Amsterdammers een dak boven hun hoofd. In de tentoonstelling (T)huisloos in de stad staan de persoonlijke verhalen van mensen die dak- of thuisloosheid ervaren centraal. Zo ook het verhaal van Susie Arnon, zij kwam na een aantal tegenslagen op straat terecht. Ze werkte als ervaringsdeskundige mee aan de tentoonstelling. Samen met onderzoeker Elisabeth Voros leidt ze je rond.

Kinship Library: veranderende plekken, blijvende verhalen (in Dutch)

Hoe veranderen plekken – en welke verhalen blijven bestaan? Op dinsdag 10 juni nodigen Stichting NDSM-werf en het Amsterdam Museum je uit voor een publieksprogramma met een performance, panel talks en inspiratiesessies over de geschiedenis, verandering en toekomst van steden als Amsterdam. De aanleiding voor dit programma is de installatie Kinship Library van Afaina de Jong die te bezoeken is op NDSM.

Open Garden Days
Friday 13, Saturday 14 en Sunday 15 June
On June 13, 14 and 15, a series of canal gardens will open their doors to the public. For anyone curious about the greenery hidden behind canal houses, the annual Open Garden Days are the time to go on a voyage of discovery. The Willet-Holthuysen House is one of the starting addresses, will you come and take a look too?
Would you like to see all the rooms of The Willet-Holthuysen House in addition to the garden? If you have a ticket for the Open Garden Days, you can visit the entire house with a 50% discount on the day itself.
Festival on the Ring
Saturday 21 June
On June 21, we will celebrate 750 years of Amsterdam on the Ring! Will you drop by our workshops? You can find us at the ‘Creative on the Ring’ section, in Zone West at exit s105. More information coming soon!

Women of Amsterdam - an ode
Without women, Amsterdam would not exist. Their presence has made the city possible, as well as shaped it. But the male perspective dominates the history books. In the exhibition, visitors are introduced to more than a hundred women who have left their mark on the city over the centuries. More information and tickets
Homeless in the city
For many people, Amsterdam is home. However, not all Amsterdammers have a roof over their heads. At least 17,000 people in the city are homeless or itinerant—more than ever before. Itinerant persons have no fixed abode: they move from couch to couch, from friend to family member to acquaintance. For homeless (or unhoused) persons, this option is not available; they must find their place on the street. More information and tickets

Also visit the Willet-Holthuysen House
Step into the past within the impressive Willet-Holthuysen House in the center of Amsterdam. This double mansion on the Herengracht contains many period rooms, spaces seemingly frozen in time. More information and tickets
