Every month, the Amsterdam Museum organizes engaging events such as special tours, lectures, symposia, performances and evening openings. For these public programs we collaborate with a diverse group of partners to provide a platform to the city's many communities.


Keti Koti: Talk & Workshop
Sunday 29 June, 2 pm - 5 pm, The Willet-Holthuysen House
How do new generations give meaning to the shared colonial and slavery past? In this program, we’ll explore together with a range of speakers how young people shape their stories and perspectives through creative expressions such as streetwear and photography. How can creativity be used to keep cultural heritage alive? After the panel talk, you'll take part in an inspiring workshop where you’ll design your own T-shirt.

Pick up your Heri Heri dish
Tuesday July 1st, 12 pm - 5 pm, The Willet-Holthuysen House
Pick up a Heri Heri dish between 12.00 pm and 5 pm. Take the dish home, or eat it in the historic garden of the Willet-Holthuysen House while enjoying a free drink. With the serving of this dish, we invite everyone to reflect together on the shared past and build collective consciousness. Will you stop by?

Art workshops (8-12 year)
From July 12th, 1 pm - 2.30 pm, Amsterdam Museum on the Amstel
Always wanted to create art with a real artist? Come to the Amsterdam Museum this summer! During the summer holidays, the Amsterdam Museum organizes unique art workshops every Wednesday and Saturday as part of the ELJA Children's Museum Lab.
Together with artists such as Gerdien van Halteren, Annalies van Eerde and Dicky Jansen, you will create your very own work of art in one afternoon. Pay tribute to your favorite stuffed animal, make your own juwelry, or create a futuristic pendant. Which workshop will join
The workshops are suitable for children between the ages of 8 and 12.

Familiespel: maak je eigen toekomstvisie! (in Dutch)
Vanaf 11 juli, Amsterdam Museum aan de Amstel
Hoe ziet Amsterdam eruit als jij oud bent? En over honderd jaar? En over duizend jaar? In de tentoonstelling Refresh Amsterdam #3: Imagine the Future leer je de toekomst kennen door de ogen van kunstenaars. Laat je verbazen door spannende kunst over de toekomst en zie hoe mensen uit heel Nederland de toekomst voor zich zien! Met het speciale familiespel (8+) krijg je de tentoonstelling op een hele andere manier te zien, kom je langs?
Kinderen tot en met 17 jaar krijgen gratis entree. De tentoonstelling is vanaf 11 juli te bezoeken.
