The winners

On Friday, November 28, the Amsterdam Museum announced the three winners of the Refresh Amsterdam #3: Imagine the Future Audience Award. During the exhibition, the public could vote, both in the museum and digitally, for the work that most moved or inspired them. And how! More than 6,500 votes were counted, and we are proud to announce the winners, who will each receive the Audience Award of €750:

Open call: Refresh Amsterdam #3

In honor of Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, the Amsterdam Museum presented the third edition of Refresh Amsterdam from July 11 to November 30: a large-scale art event that explores current themes in the city and society. In collaboration with various cultural partners, the museum brought together work by artists and the public, with the central question: what does the future look like?

For the first time, not only artists but also the general public were given a platform to express their ideas and dreams. Through an Open Call, we invited everyone to submit a wish, plan, or idea about the future, in any form. Anything was allowed. A painting, video, poem, photo, sculpture, design, song, or something completely unexpected. More than 200 diverse ideas and perspectives poured in, which together formed a rich and diverse picture of the future.

From these submissions, a professional jury selected 20 inspiring entries for the exhibition Refresh Amsterdam #3: Imagine the Future. Three of them were eligible for the €750 audience award in the categories: votes from the physical exhibition, votes from the online platform, and children's jury.
