Collateral Kin live-sessions met Darshan Kumari

    Live performance | at 19.15 - 19.30, 20.25 - 20.40, 21.40 - 21.55 and 22.10 - 22.30 hr

Let yourself be carried away by the extraordinary sitar music of Darshan Kumari's students. Darshan is a sitar player with an extensive repertoire of classical ragas and semi-classical compositions. She has been teaching students the sitar, Indian singing for beginners and Hindi for over 35 years, passing on her knowledge from teacher to student in the traditional manner.

The musicians will perform at various times among the large portraits by Raquel van Haver. Darshan is one of the subjects portrayed in Raquel van Haver's series The Collateral Kin.

    Strip Club Drawing Live 2

    Stripclub Live Drawing

    Live drawing sessies | at 19.30 - 20.15 and 20.45 - 21.30 hr

What does the future of sex work look like? In the model drawing workshop at Stripclub Life Drawing, we depict a world in which strippers take centre stage, both as performers and as artists. While they strike poses on and around the pole, you will be guided in shaping your own interpretation of that future. After an explanation of one of the oldest professions in our city, the workshop shows how stripping, despite existing stigmas, is a fully-fledged and expressive art form, even in the future.

    Extra Le Trou 2

Le Trou: Write the Future 2.0 – The Echo

Locatie: Restaurant (soundscape can be heard on the stairs next to the tourdesk)
    Talk | 20.00 - 21.00 hr

During Museum Night, we asked you to write down what otherwise remained unsaid.
Today, those words return as sound, conversation and encounter.
Led by Niek Putman, speakers Cero Ismael, Joy Geerestein, Indiana Roma Voss and others will discuss the future. They will draw random cards and respond to whatever immediately comes to mind. In addition, tonight you will hear a musical translation of your words, composed by artist Cero Ismael and sound designer Jopi. The soundscape will play throughout the evening.

    About Le Trou
Le Trou is a creative collective that organises events around music, food and art. Le Trou bridges the gap between creative people and spaces and fills a void by introducing new, exciting talent and concepts at well-known locations. With Le Trou, we strive to bring international and local creative talent in our city into contact with each other and introduce them to each other in order to create more solidarity.

    Mini Workshops Toekomstdenken with JCK

    Locat: Tuingang
Workshops by Dana Rentenaar (political scientist) and Batya Wolff (exhibition organiser) | at 19:30, 20.30 en 21.30 hr

It is 2075. Amsterdam is celebrating its 800th anniversary. You open your phone and take a screenshot. What do you see? In this workshop, you will imagine what the future of Amsterdam could look like. What makes you happy? What vision of the future frightens you? By imagining the future, your view of the present changes.

During the workshop, we will use Mushon Zer-Aviv's Future Screenshots method. This Israeli designer and peace activist developed this workshop shortly after the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas. This method explores how people in times of crisis can and dare to imagine futures, and what that can mean for them.

    About Imagining Futures
In the installation Imagining Futures (on display at the Jewish Museum), you will meet a number of people who live in the Netherlands and have family in Israel, Gaza or the West Bank. They took part in a “future thinking” workshop in Amsterdam led by Israeli designer and peace activist Mushon Zer-Aviv and Palestinian-Dutch political scientist Dana Rentenaar. In the workshop, they imagined futures they desire – and those they fear. Their stories, the process they went through, and the tangible images of the future that emerged from it can be seen and heard in the installation. This installation is on display from 19 June 2025 to 11 January 2026.

Manifest your vision of the future by cutting, pasting and building a collage of dreams, concerns and sci-fi fantasies.

During this collage vision boarding workshop, you will give your creativity free rein under the guidance of collage artist Bo from Cut the Scrap. Together, we will set to work creating unique visualisations of the future of Amsterdam, with step-by-step guidance through the creative process. No experience is necessary; everyone is welcome!
