Pass the baton
Let our unique family guide accompany your family through the exhibition The Netherlands, do better!. Together you will step into the role of a budding activist and be encouraged to think about a form of injustice.
The activists behind Nederland Wordt Beter (The Netherlands is getting better) pass the baton on to you, with the message: get better! You follow in their footsteps and learn what activism entails. From making a protest sign to drafting a message to the mayor. Children get a representative picture of what it means to be an activist and are invited to make their voices heard against forms of injustice.

About the exhibition
From 2 November 2025 to 1 February 2026, Beautiful Distress will host the exhibition The Netherlands, do better!. In the exhibition, Nederland Wordt Beter and the Amsterdam Museum look back on 15 years of Black activism in the Netherlands (2010-2025); the struggle for equality and against racism and other forms of exclusion. A timeline combined with stories from those involved shows the history and present of various anti-racism initiatives.
