Mokum Museum Café is famous for its inviting terrace in the inner courtyard of the Amsterdam Museum.
Located in the vibrant heart of Amsterdam, between the Kalverstraat and Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, it is a real oasis of calm. And a wonderful place to combine a visit to the Amsterdam Museum with breakfast, lunch and an early dinner.
From cow shed to café
Mokum Museum Café's location has a rich history, because the café is situated in the former cow shed of the Saint Lucien Monastery. The monastery was established in 1414 and was one of 21 monasteries in Amsterdam at the time. The quiet spot where you can now sit down and enjoy a bite to eat and a drink was once home to the sister's cows!
