Within the research brand Collection and Stories we do multidisciplinary research into the collection and history of the city of Amsterdam. Multidisciplinary research to us means combining various academic disciplines and non-academic researchers, artistic research and community knowledge.
Collection
In our collection research we deepen our knowledge of meanings and materiality of objects. The latter also in terms of conservation.
Stories
In research into the city’s stories of the past and present, we have a focus on underrepresented and silenced perspectives.
Themes
We currently have two research themes that focus on specific urban subjects: streetwear and nature and the city. The thematic approach facilitates multidisciplinarity
