Krisztina Varró is lecturer in Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. She has widely published on the politics of urban and regional development policy in the European and, more specifically, postsocialist (Hungarian) context, and on discourses of smart city building and governance.  

Her current research focuses on diversifying planning history through a feminist lens, the multi-scalar politics of the caring city, and the implementation of gender-sensitive urban planning.
