Lecturer and researcher specializing in Public History at the University of Amsterdam, in 2022, van Hasselt earned her PhD with the dissertation Money, Faith, and Good Friends: Piet van Eeghen and the Metamorphosis of Amsterdam, 1816–1889. She currently combines teaching with postdoctoral research on the project Amsterdam Diaries. Previously, she worked as a curator at the Amsterdam Museum and as a researcher for the television program Andere Tijden.
