
Meryem Başoğlu has a Bachelor's in European Studies, with a focus on Identity, Central/Eastern Europe and Museum Studies. She is currently pursuing het Master Degree in Curating Art and Cultures at the UvA/VU. Under the supervision of Dr. Tom van Der Meulen, Meryem is is the 2026-2027 Curator in Training at the Amsterdam Museum. Her specialisation is Contemporary Art, and she is interested in working together with communities, co-creation and themes such as identity, migration and belonging. Currently, Meryem is part of the Streetwear Amsterdam project with Dr. Emma van Bijnen and curator Roberto Luis Martins, as well asnd of the project on Shared Histories Alliance with Dr. Vanessa Vroon-Najem. Meryem is part of the initiative Living+, bringing greater cultural visibility to urgent public health themes. For the upcoming months, Meryem is the organiser of the Kunstklub 2026, an initiative from Kunst Uitleen Alkmaar, focusing on making their space more accessible to a young audience and artists.
