Dr  Michiel van Meeteren is Assistant Professor at Utrecht University in the Geography & Education group (Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning). His scholarship examines the historical and future trajectories of geographic thought, curricula, and disciplinary identity. His work bridges human and physical geography, exploring how geography responds to challenges like climate change, urbanization, inequality, and global mobility—and how translating across epistemological divides can enrich geographic understanding and practice.
