TengTeng Ho is currently pursuing an MA in Design Cultures at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. She is an editorial member of Spui25inSpe and works as a research and publications intern at the Amsterdam Museum under the supervision of Dr. Emma van Bijnen. In this role, she contributes to several ongoing projects. She supports as project secretary for AM Journal #6: Future Cities and AM Journal #7: Fashion & Identity, and is involved as a contributing researcher, providing research support and co-organizing events at the AM Research Centre in collaboration with Dr. Tom van Der Meulen and Dr. Emma van Bijnen. She also contributes to AM Streetwear with curator Roberto Luis Martins, and to the Alliance of Shared Histories project with Dr. Vanessa Vroon-Najem.
As a researcher, TengTeng aims to challenge dominant paradigms within art, design, and fashion through a critical and interdisciplinary lens. She has programmed and moderated a range of panel talks including Fashion and Power – Who’s In, Who’s Out, and Who Decides? (May 2025) and Access Granted? Breaking Into and Breaking Down the Art World (January 2025) that brings together academic and practice-based knowledge, fostering dialogue across fields.
Her work focuses on how fashion and popular culture objects reveal complex social and political layers, with particular attention to colonial and postcolonial contexts. She explores how these objects can serve as critical tools for understanding identity, power, and cultural narratives.
Her recent academic article, “Labubu as Proof of a Burnout Generation” (2026), was featured in the design criticism magazine Platform Pudding.
