Stories of flights
This edition, Abner Preis worked with co-creator Zoe D'Amaro to create an immersive storytelling experience in which women of different ages and backgrounds shared their stories. Women who had to flee at different stages of their lives. Despite the fact that their lives were disrupted by war, migration and poverty, the narratives do not dwell on suffering. Indeed, they highlight their courage, resilience and talent.
Blooming in a Ring of Fire
Blooming in a Ring of Fire is a series of five Virtual Reality experiences inspired by stories of women on the run. The stories focus on the themes of hope and personal development.
This VR work can be viewed under supervision on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons between 1 and 5 p.m. It is also possible to view the works unaccompanied.
This project was made possible in part by the Mondriaan Fonds, Plan International and the Nationale Postcode Loterij.
In the previous edition, Preis made a selection from the more than 3,000 entries that came in through the online exhibition Corona in de Stad (coronaindestad.nl) where visitors could share their corona experiences in Amsterdam through an open call.
