Jo the sister-in-law of Vincent van Gogh is a woman of courage and perseverance.

She is an example for many women and symbolizes the single mother who has numerous opportunities to survive. Jo took it as a mission after Vincent van Gogh's death to bring his works of art back from Paris to

the Netherlands and to publicize them by organizing exhibitions. She managed to break through in a predominantly male-dominated world and bring worldwide fame to Vincent van Gogh's paintings. Jo has carefully managed the legacy of the paintings of Vincent

carefully managed so that we can still enjoy the paintings today.

Shortly after the death of Vincent, Theo the brother of Vincent to whom Jo was married and had a young son also died. When Jo returned to the Netherlands as a young widow with her only child, she started to earn a living as a landlady for her and her son who was then 1 year old.

Jo was a very driven conscious young woman who dared to get out of her comfort zone. She had organizational talent, was strong on communication and showed for the time she lived in, in the 19th century, that a single mother could survive.

Learn from her courage and discover your own talents and live. Every day is a new opportunity to shine.
