Ode to Aletta Jacobs | You have helped all the women

By Sarah1 maart 2025

Aletta Jacobs

I think it's super cool what you did, because you made sure

ensured that we (women) are now allowed to be doctors. I really appreciate you

really greatly. Because of you, women now have a lot more rights

and can say what they want. You have fought for the

women. A lot of people appreciate you. I think it's great that you

persevered until you succeeded and got your way. Because of you

women to study and vote. I think it is a pity that you

I would have liked to ask you many questions. Because of you we can

to do what we want. You have helped all women. It is

just very stupid that there are still more men in power

are still in power. If I had lived in your era I wouldn't have dared what you all

you have done. I also don't understand how you persuaded

the men. If you were still here, I would like to ask you

how you convinced the men to listen to you.

I think it is cool that you are a Dutchman. Me too.

Greetings from Sarah from St. John's school. Thanks for everything!

About

Ode by Sarah to Aletta Jacobs.

Students from group 7 of the Sint Janschool in Amsterdam West wrote odes to five special Amsterdam women, as part of the curriculum at Vrouwen van Amsterdam - an ode.

Lize Korpershoek writes to Aletta Jacobs, Netherlands best-known feminist. Among other things, she was president of the 'Vereeniging voor Vrouwenkiesrecht' - from 1903 to 1919: then the goal was achieved. Jacobs fought for birth control and against prostitution. She had an extensive international feminist network.

Aletta Jacobs

Aletta Jacobs was a Dutch physician, feminist and pacifist.
