Ode to Johanna van Gogh-BongerOde to Jo (4)

Dear Jo
I am sincerely glad you were there! Without you, we would not be standing in this wonderful Van Gogh Museum right now. It is even questionable whether we would have “known” Vincent at all.
Imagine being a young widow with a child still in diapers and owning a warehouse full of paintings and drawings that were not exactly popular at that time.
You took the decision to return to the Netherlands and from there you have put the entire legacy on the map worldwide. Chapeau!!!
You made possible what seemed impossible.
In this time of polarization where fear and us-versus-them thinking seems to prevail, we desperately need people like you!
Like Jo, let us all rise above our circumstances and make this a more beautiful world.
