We are now in Amsterdam.

The city is famous for many things.

For example, everyone knows Van Gogh and his extraordinary Impressionist paintings.

Sunflowers, almond blossoms and more.

Do these people know that there would be no paintings if there had not been a sweet, well-educated girl in Vincent's life who believed in his talent, supported the unusual artist and devoted her time, income and her whole life to promoting and popularizing his work?

Her name is Jo Bonger.

She is the wife of the artist's brother. Born in Amsterdam.

She received a good education, which was not common in those days....

Period

1862– 1925
