Ode to Saskia van Uylenburgh | Saskia to me always my dear kindergarten teacher

By Anonymous9 maart 2025

Saskia to me always my dear kindergarten teacher. Going to school for the first time, those are your first steps apart from your parents into life as your own person who are you? What kind of woman am I becoming? A powerful, positive, energetic and valuable Saskia was by my side these kindergarten years. For that I am grateful. The ray of sunshine this morning was also a little for you, my Saskia.
I wish for my daughters and for the world stubborn women who, in part through, education, can shape their lives the way they want. We all need that!

About

Ode to Saskia van Uylenburgh by anonymous

Every year on March 9 at 8:30 in the morning, a ray of sunlight falls on the grave of Saskia van Uylenburgh in the Oude Kerk. In cooperation with the Amsterdam Museum, people could write odes to Saskia and other Amsterdam women who mean something to them during the Saskia Breakfast.
