    Conditions Women of Amsterdam

    Lize Korpershoek, 2024, Francoise Bolechowski
    1. Submit your ode via the form
    2. If you submit a photograph, video, or sound recording, please ensure it is of good quality.
    3. When uploading a video, please help us by first posting it on YouTube or Vimeo. Please note: if you post content on YouTube or Vimeo, you agree to the terms and conditions of these websites. First read these terms and conditions carefully, so you are aware of the agreement you are entering.
    4. We reserve the right to provide context, edit, or otherwise adapt submitted contributions (always in consultation with the author/maker).
    5. If the woman you have chosen for your ode and whom you know personally is still living, always ask her permission (if this person is a public figure, see item 8). If you intend to use images of this woman, always ask her permission before uploading your contribution, as mentioned under item 7.
    6. Your submission will be kept in the collection of the Amsterdam Museum and could, for example, be used in the future as part of a physical exhibition.
    7. You give permission to the Amsterdam Museum to use (publicize and reproduce) your submitted contribution or parts thereof:
      a. on the digital platform Women of Amsterdam - an ode;
      b. on the website for the project Women of Amsterdam - an ode;
      c. on the general website of the Amsterdam Museum;
      d. on the social media channels of the Amsterdam Museum.
      e. to be included in the (digital) collection of the Amsterdam Museum and to be used for future digital and physical exhibitions in the context of Women of Amsterdam - an ode;
      f. to use the material and make it available in presentations and press material for promoting the aforementioned components (the platform and listed websites, digital and physical exhibitions, as part of the collections, etc.);
      g. to be published on the Amsterdam Museum’s public Facebook, Instagram, TiktTok, and X accounts and on YouTube. Your contribution will be visible to everyone and can be shared by the users of these social media platforms.
    8. Be cautious regarding what you submit as a contribution. Ensure that your contribution does not violate any rights of others (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.) and that it meets all stated conditions. For example, if you use photographs, videos, or texts produced by others, you must get their permission to use these in your contribution and to allow us to use them as mentioned under item 7. The same applies if these photographs or videos contain works of art to which others hold the copyright. Additionally, your contribution may not contain images, videos, or data from other persons that could violate the portrait rights or privacy of these persons without their explicit consent. If the person is a minor, permission from their parent(s)/legal representative(s) is required.
    9. Offensive and insulting submissions will not be accepted.
      In many cases, the Amsterdam Museum does not hold the copyright (or other intellectual property rights) to materials published online. Such material is usually provided by third parties. These third parties have assured the Amsterdam Museum that rights holders have given their permission for use on the website (under the relevant conditions and the associated licensing/codes). However, the Amsterdam Museum cannot always guarantee that this is the case. If you believe that material published on the website is in violation of your rights, please report this via info.ode@amsterdammuseum.nl.
      If you otherwise find unauthorized information such as content that conflicts with privacy, our general terms and conditions, standards of decency, good taste, or public order in general, and/or any legal regulation, the Amsterdam Museum requests that you report this via info.ode@amsterdammuseum.nl.
      Amsterdam Museum will respond to reports of complaints as quickly as possible, and in any case within 10 days. If the complaint is clearly justified, the Amsterdam Museum will ensure the content in question is removed as quickly as possible. If the complaint is determined to be unjustified, you will be notified. If the Amsterdam Museum has reasonable doubts regarding the complaint, it will be rejected.
    10. If you are under 16 years of age, you must first obtain permission from a parent or legal representative before providing us with your personal data. We therefore ask you not to create an account, submit a contribution, and/or provide us with this type of information in any other way (e.g., by email) before having received permission to do so.
    11. Before submitting a contribution, we ask that you agree to these conditions. This is required for participation.
