Amsterdam in MotionExperience museumnacht 2025 at Amsterdam in Motion!
On 1 November, Amsterdam in Motion will open its doors to museum night visitors for the first time with a special programme.
Step inside the brand-new experience at the Westergasterrein – curated by the Amsterdam Museum – and let yourself be carried away by the compelling story of our city. On a gigantic 200 m² model, the past, present and future come to life thanks to breathtaking projections, impressive animations and a powerful sound system.
Amsterdam in Motion is a non-profit initiative of the Amsterdam Museum in collaboration with creative partners, companies and institutions. The result: an inspiring experience for Amsterdammers and visitors from all over the world – a place to see, feel and experience the city.
See the full programme below. During Museum Night, Amsterdam in Motion is open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Audiovisual Projection Show
19.00 - 02.00 | every 30min
In this unique experience, you will travel through the history of the city, discover hidden stories and get a glimpse of the Amsterdam of tomorrow. A compelling audiovisual projection show and interactive exhibition bring together the past, present and future. Afterwards, you can delve even deeper into the museum section.

De Jonge Lichting Take-over
19.00 - 01.00 | all night
Every year, the Amsterdam Museum works with a youth department consisting of seven vocational students who create programmes for the museum. With De Jonge Lichting, you discover new places, develop your own skills and gain a platform to present your own work. During Museum Night, De Jonge Lichting takes over the foyer of Amsterdam in Motion for a spectacular programme.

Food & Drinks
19.00 - 02.00 | all night
During Museumnacht, our neighbours at Brouwerij Troost will take you on a journey into their world of locally brewed flavours. Since 2013, they have been making award-winning beers, soft drinks and even gin and jenever from leftover beer, all with love for the city and the planet. At the Westergasterrein, Troost will provide you with delicious comfort burgers and late-night snacks.
Did you know that in the Middle Ages, even children drank beer because it was safer than water? Suddenly, toasting with a Troost beer feels almost historically justified.
