    Prior to the opening of the exhibition Manahahtáanung or New Amsterdam? The Indigenous Story Behind New York, a symposium will take place on Wednesday, May 15. Speakers will include representatives of the Lenape - original inhabitants of the New York area of the United States -, artists and curators of the Amsterdam Museum and the Museum of the City of New York.

    Moderator: Dr. Gian-Louis Hernandez

    Gian-Louis Hernandez is an Assistant Professor of Intercultural Communication and Responsible Leadership at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Amsterdam School of International Business. He holds a PhD in Communication Science from Universita della Svizzera italiana (USI). He also holds an MA in Global Studies from Universität Humboldt zu Berlin, in collaboration with the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) Argentina. His work has been published in Journal of Comparative and International Higher Education, Journal of International Students, and Latino Studies, among others.
