Ode to C. | Regardless of our differences, we are equal

The colors show how beautiful this planet is. All those colors can be about life. Life has different colors. What is today is not tomorrow. Every day comes with something new.

We are different people, but regardless of our differences, we are equal. This place, the shelter here is beautiful and people here show who they are. I see that everyone chooses their favorite colors when making the painting. For me, the painting shows that we are different and also equal. That is what this painting is about.

When I look at the painting, I see different things: I see two persons, a man and a woman, living equal lives. I see two lovers. And I see a father, the black part of the figure means he is dead, the light part of the person is the living part of him.

This is my message for other people in Amsterdam: we are different, different in color, in our actions and in our ideas. Yet we are one. Regardless of our differences, we must live together. The painting is full of leaves, and if you look at the leaves, you can see that they have different colors, each has a different design. The leaves are all together and this makes the painting beautiful. They make us belong together. This is how I see it.
